More people than places – a review of hostels and supported accommodation
for homeless people in Rural East AngliaIn
2007 Norfolk Supporting People led a joint agency review of hostels and
supported housing provision for homeless people in the Rural East Anglia
Partnership Housing Sub Region. This covers Breckland, King's Lynn and West
Norfolk and North Norfolk. They are seeking views on the findings of
the review and the proposals to meet gaps. They have arranged a consultation
meeting for all interested stakeholders including service providers, service
users and referral organisations. The meeting is at: The Anglia Suite,
Breckland District Council, Conference Suite, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke,
Dereham, April 15th at 2.00pm Please ring the Supporting People Team on
01603 729245 to let them know you will be coming to the event You can
download a copy of the report and the strategy/action plan from the web
sites of participating organisations including Supporting People:
www.norfolk.gov.uk/supportingpeople - follow the links to the News,
Events and Research pageThey
welcome all responses to the consultation and would be particularly
interested to receive views on the issues identified, the recommendations
and the proposals we have made for meeting the challenges. They would
welcome views from organisations supporting homeless people in Rural East
Anglia about how they can contribute towards meeting the aspirations of the
strategy and action plan. Additionally they would value hostels and other
service providers sharing the findings and recommendations with service
users and supporting them to offer their views as part of the process of
consultation.
The consultation period will close at 12.00pm
Monday June 9th.
